The BMW Group Plant Leipzig is one of the most modern and sustainable automobile plants in the world. The production for customers around the world began in March 2005.

Evolution and revolution combined: the plant does not only focus on conventional vehicle production, but also on the production of electric vehicles and CFRP lightweight bodies.

Plant tours take place Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm after previous booking.

TOUR TYPES.

We offer the following options for guided tours:

Experience a perfectly coordinated choreography of more than 800 robots in the Body Shop, the precision work of Paint Shop robots and the manual fitting of cars in the Assembly for two and a half fascinating hours. Every single BMW is turned into a unique specimen.

Guided Tours for single visitors or small group take place at fixed dates several times a week. The tours are conducted with a maximum of 25 participants. The tour takes about 2.5 hours. You can join one of these tours if you are a single visitor or with a group of up to 6 people.

Exclusive guided tours take place Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. One of our experts will guide your group (maximum of 25 people) through the production and focus on your interests and favourite topics as far as possible.

Experience the fascinating world of carbon, painted plastic parts, bonding robots and electric vehicles: Immerse into the world of innovative lightweight technology.

Single visitors and smaller groups of up to six people will be guided through the production of electric vehicles in mixed groups of up to 25 people. The duration of the tour is approximately 2.5 hours. Guided Tours are available in German and English.

Experience the fascinating world of carbon, painted plastic parts, bonding robots and electric vehicles: Immerse into the world of innovative lightweight technology.

The exclusive tour is available for groups and also for single visitors who would like to be guided exclusively and without other visitors to experience the fascination of BMW i by themselves. The duration of the tour is approximately 2.5 hours. Exclusive Guided Tours are available in German and English.

Due to internal production reasons we can only offer guided tours for electric vehicle production / BMWi in limited timeframes through all of 2017. Please apologize any inconvenience.

A unique building is located right in the middle of the large production halls – the Central Building designed by the London based architect Zaha Hadid. The building connects the production areas and offers space for meetings and communication so people can experience the production process.

Experience the architectural implementation of the Central Building with our special guide tour on architecture. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and takes you through the different levels of this administration and communication centre. Take a closer look at the unique design of Zaha Hadid from different perspectives. The project is explained from the architectural competition to the realisation. Guided tours on architecture are offered as exclusive tours only.

Children between 6 and 13 years of age can take a guided tour as well and experience BMW production. These tours are especially designed to meet the requirements of our younger visitors. We offer tours for age groups 6 to 9 and 10 to 13.

Single visitors and smaller groups (up to 6 people) can participate in single visitor tours, which take place mainly during the summer vacation. Children have to be accompanied by an adult supervisor.

Day care centres, schools and other child care facilities can participate in a group tour. One supervisor is required for 5 children.

A9 motorway from the direction of Munich or Berlin.
At the Schkeuditz motorway interchange take the A14 motorway towards Dresden and leave the motorway at the exit marked “Leipzig-Messegelände”. Follow the signs to the BMW plant. Visitors should please drive straight along BMW Allee and follow the “Besucher/Visitors” signs. Access to the works is via the entrance to the central building.
